1.The height raindrops fall and size can differ. But following an average speed of 14mph and an average cloud height of 2,500 feet, it would take two minutes for a raindrop to hit the floor. Very small raindrops can take as long as seven minutes to reach the ground; while larger droplets can fall at speeds of 20mph.
2.Raindrops are shaped more like hamburger buns. As a rain drop falls, it becomes less spherical in shape and becomes more flattened on the bottom like a hamburger bun.
3.Petrichor is the smell of rain. The word comes from the Greek words 'petra', meaning stone, and 'ichor', which in Greek mythology refers to the golden fluid that flows in the veins of the immortals.
